Letters-JUNE 2001

What is a balconnet bra? Is that like a half bra?
sherri

Dear Sherri,
A balconnet bra is similar to a half cup demi bra, the main difference is that it plunges a little more in between the cups and it is not cut straight across the cup like the demi bra, rather it is cut at an angle on the cups.

Have a great day!
Véronique

Hi

Glad you asked!

Letters-February 2001

Dear Véronique
What are proper care instructions?
Thanks for your help.
Scott

Dear Scott
Since we want to be sure that you will treasure your fine lingerie for years to come. We highly recomend hand washing with mild soap. Never use bleach on your lingerie. Machine washing may be too harsh on delicate embroideries and hooks may snag intricate laces. Hang to dry or reshape and dry flat. Please do not dry your lingerie in the dryer! For our silk nightgowns and chemises it may be necessary to pat out excess water, using a clean towel and iron on reverse side while slightly damp. You may want to refer to our garment care page for more detailed fabric information.

Thanks for your e-mail!
Véronique

Letters-January 2001

Hi Véronique
I'm a little bit confused, is the string tanga what is referred to on your website the same as the tanga?
BRAD

Dear Brad
No, the tanga and the string tanga are two different items. The tanga is the French version of a thong, however it has a slightly broader band in the rear and tends to be more ornate than a normal thong or g-string and is more substantial than a thong. The string tanga is the same as the regular tanga except for the string waistband. The "string" actually refers to the the narrow straps at the hips, not the material in the rear. You will also see references on our site to a string. This is a g-string thong, not a tanga.

Good Question!
Véronique

Dear Véronique
I would like to give my girlfriend (34B) a true demi bra, unpadded, of nice lace with underwire and back closure. Do you stock such a bra?
Steve

Dear Steve
Yes, just about every designer featured on our site offers a demi bra as it is the most popular bra purchased! Simply browse our site and take your pick. Let me know if you have a more specific question regarding one of our collections. We are always glad to help!

Happy Shopping!

Hi,
I am searching for the lace back thong offered by Aubade. Do you carry this item?

Hello,
Can you help me find bras: no underwire, 40B, black, full bra? In the past I have worn Chantelle and Simone Perele bras.
Jacqueline

Dear Jacqueline.
We have researched your question and I am happy to suggest the following soft cup bras, size 40B in Black. Please review Prima Donna's "Brazil" as well as Prima Donna's "Orlando" collections which offer bras matching your criteria.

Thanks for your e-mail!

Letters-August 2000

Hi Véronique,

I currently wear size 38E in Rigby & Peller bras, however, I don't see that size listed. Is 40DD comparable?

Thank you

Rigby & Peller offers bras in both DD cups and E cups, which can be very misleading because most of our other designers sizes DD and E are identical. Rigby & Peller is the exception to this rule as their cup sizes are produced with United Kingdom's size system. Size 38E is available in the full cup bras only (not demi or balconnet bras) for all of our Rigby & Peller collections. Rigby & Peller's size 38E has a fuller cup than their size 38DD. If you wish to order size 38E, simply proceed with your order. Once you receive your e-mail order summary, you will be asked to check it for accuracy. At this point, simply make the appropriate size change. We will notify you that the size has been modified once we receive your e-mail. For clarity sake, we opted not to list E cup Rigby & Peller bras on our site, however they may still be ordered by request. Please note: This applies only to Rigby & Peller bras.

Glad we could help with your special request.
My very best,
Véronique

I am looking for an Aubade bra size 34B in Havana Brown from the Tulips collection. Is this still available? Please advise.

Thank you so much.
Cynthia

Dear Cynthia,
Although Aubade is going ahead with the Tulips collection for Fall/Holiday 2000, the only color that will be available is Cardinal. Sorry, the Havana brown is no longer being produced. If you are interested in the current Tulip selections, please take a peek at the brillant new color: Cardinal.

Sincerely,
Véronique

Letters-July 2000

Dear Veronique,
Is there any way to find out where to purchase some of the accessories that the models were wearing? There were some georgous jackets....Short of flying to Paris, any other avenues would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you.
Ray

Dear Ray,
The models do tend to wear fantastic and exquisite accessories. Unfortunately they are simply photo shoot props provided by the photographer and not available for sale. (of course the photography was shot abroad so I'm afraid you will have to fly to Paris for a shopping spree...of well, I could think of worse things!!)

Thanks for your interest.
Véronique

Hi
I had purchased some nylons/tights there for apprx $ 30 that had on the top even stronger parts that "lifted" up the butt and "pushed" in the thighs. I want another pair. Any ideas what they are? I thought it was something that started with a "b"?

Thanks
Terina

Dear Terina,
We remember that you had purchased Oroblu's "Shock Up" body sculpting hosiery which has a special band to lift the bottom and the modeling band to slim your hips and thighs.

Take a look, we will be happy to assist you again.

Best Regards,
Véronique

Letters-June 2000

Dear Veronique,
I have some questions about your Lise Charmel products. What is a Charmeuse back bikini? What is a hi-cut Tulle back bikini? Does the boxer brief have full bottom coverage or is it more like a coullette?

Regards,
Bob

Dear Bob,
The Charmeuse back bikini is a classic bikini with a full opaque back. The back is composed of Charmeuse which is a very comfortable satiny material. The hi-cut Tulle back bikini has a Brazilian bikini shape which is cut higher on the hips with a Tulle back which is a transparent netted material. Yes, you are correct, the boxer brief has a very similar cut and fit as the culotte.

Best Regards,
Véronique

Dear Veronique,
Are the sizes listed exact or does European lingerie run larger or smaller? What is your retutn policy if the lingerie does not fit properly?

Thanks, Pat

Dear Pat,
European sizes tend to run slightly on the small size in panties. The bras run true to American sizes. If your selection does not fit properly, you may exchange it within 7 days of delivery for another size or another selection altogether. Please take a peek at our policies page for additional information.

Thanks, we look forward to assisting you with your selections.
Véronique

Letters-May 2000

Dear Veronique,
I'm interested in Les Essentials padded demi bra. Is the padding moderate or thick? I need a slight fiber fill bra but I don't like a lot of padding.

Barbara

Dear Barbara,
The Les Essentials" padded demi bra is not excessively padded. It is a fiberfill bra, and is considered to be moderately padded. Please remember that each individual may have a different interpretation of "moderate".

Thanks for your e-mail!
Véronique

Hi,
A friend bought a bra in Israel that has "clear" straps to wear under tank tops. The label says Teleno and that it's made in Spain. Do you carry this bra or have something like it?

Peggy

Dear Peggy,
Although we did review similar bras with the clear straps in Paris earlier this year, none of our featured designers are currently offering this trend. You may have better luck with your local department stores or boutiques for this specialty item.

Best Regards,
Véronique

Letters-April 2000

Hi Veronique,
I had a quick question about one of your new Lise Charmel collections. I am thinking of ordering a set from the Ylang collection, but am curious about what shade of pink it is. In the Web photo, it looks like a very soft, pale pink. Is that accurate?

Thank you.
Judith

Dear Judith,
The new Spring 2000 color for "Ylang" is pink. It is a very soft and pretty blush shade of pink. I think it is absolutely darling!

Best Regards,
Véronique

Dear Veronique,
What brands do you carry?

Dear Gayle,
You can always refer to our "Site Map", for specific designers that we are currently featuring at AzzumA.

Thanks, we look forward to assisting you with your selections.

Dear Veronique,
Is the DePledge Soft Basque and Matching G available in stock?
Karen

Dear Karen,

Véronique

Dear Veronique,
Are you able to order more Andalou range from ravage? Or does sold out mean totaly unavailable?

Thanks.
B.B.

Dear BB,
Sorry, Ravage has stopped production of the "Andalou" collection which means that it is no longer available. Each of our designers collections are only offered for a limited amount of time. We will not be able to request additional "Andalou" selections from Ravage at this time. Yes, "sold out" in this case does mean that it is totally unavailable.

We hope we can assist you with another selection!
Véronique

Letters-February 2000

Dear Veronique,
What is the difference between the Demi Bra and a Soft Bra??
Mark

Dear Mark,
The demi cup bra is a half cup underwired bra with wide set straps while the soft cup bra does not have an underwire at the bottom of the cup.

Thanks for your question
Véronique

Letters-January 2000

Dear Veronique,
It appears that some of the items that I would like are not currently available in the sizes that I need. Is it possible to special order items?
Mark

Dear Mark,
Most of the collections that are offered in limited sizes are no longer being produced. If that is the case we cannot place a special order, otherwise we would be happy to check on availablility in additional sizes for you. (our sale pages items cannot be special ordered and the pieces listed are all that is left in our inventory).
Thanks for your e-mail!.

Sincerely,
Véronique

Hi Veronique,
My wife wears a 36DD bra and would like to know where she can get a modern version of the fabulous bullet bra,( or circular stitched bra) . She loves the very pointed look. We,ve been searching everywhere.
Thanks!

Hi, Thanks for visiting our site and taking the time to contact me via e-mail. Well after an extensive search we did not fare any better. We were not able to locate any current collections with circular stitching on the cups....however the collections do change on a seasonal basis, so we may have better luck as the styles inevitably change. We will keep you in mind if we happen upon a very pointy bra. In the meantime, please check our site on a regular basis for new additions.

Best Regards,
Véronique

Dear Veronique,
Is the color "pearl" a true white, winter white or ivory?
Dayna

Dear Dayna,
Yes, Pearl is in the winter white family of colors. Please keep in mind that each designers version of Pearl may vary ever so slightly.

Letters-November 1999

dear veronique,
i would like to know who actually invented the first bra? this may sound really stupid but i'm just curious. please reply.
thanks
Gary

Dear Gary,
What a fantastic question!! The answer really depends on who you ask!

According to "Everyday Dress" the Bra was born in Paris, in 1908. There Pierre Poiret designed a "brassiere". But for various reasons the Bra wouldn't become popular until after the 30's. During the 20's tight bust-flattening brassieres were the style so it wasn't until the trend reversed that the bra was designed to emphasize the area.

The French word brassiere actually means an infant's undergarment or harness. In the United States, the first boneless bra to leave the midriff bare was developed in 1913 by Mary Phelps Jacobs, a New York City debutante. Under the name Caresse Crosby, Jacobs marketed a bra made of two French handkerchiefs suspended from the shoulders. Many young women in the 1920s bought their first bras to achieve the kind of slim, boyish figure that the chemise (or flapper) dress required.

The first bras were designed simply to flatten ... Our current cup sizes (A,B, C and D), as well as the idea of circular stitching to enhance the roundness of the breast, emerged in the 1930s.

Thanks for your curiosity!
Véronique

Joyce

Dear Joyce,
Yes, we do offer bras that do not feature underwires in the cups. Take a peek at Prima Donna's Saffraan Collection, Arabesque Collection and Merano Collection. Look specifically for the Soft Cup Bras (they do not have underwires).

Dear Véronique,
Do you carry a padded 34 DD bra?
Ann

Dear Ann,
Thank you for visiting our site! I have researched most of our sources and have not been able to find a 34DD padded bra for you. Most of our padded, fiberfill and deep vee plunge bras, (each offer different versions of padding) are available in A, B and sometimes C Cups. Sorry that we were not able to help, however we would be very happy to suggest other bras that we carry that are available in size 34DD.
Just let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

Yours,
Véronique

Letters-August 1999

Hi Veronique,
Thanks for answering my questions regarding availability. Now I have another question, why are some items not available until September or later?
Chad

Dear Chad,
As you may already know, most of our French design houses take an extended summer vacation, as is the custom in Europe. They usually close entirely for some or all of the month of August. So you can see that if we do not have your specific selection in stock during July/August, the soonest that it can be delivered will be in September when they return from their hiatus. Don't forget that if you need something immediately, we do have numerous selections in stock. If you would like, we'd be happy to make some suggestions for you.

Thanks for following up with your delivery question!
Véronique

I wanted to know if Leonisa brand Bridas collection padded 4-way bra with lace can be made into a strapless and also if it has underwire?
Teri

Dear Teri,
Yes, Leonisa's "Bridas Collection" padded 4-way bra with lace can be worn strapless. The four ways are strapless, halter position, criss-cross and of course regular straps over the shoulders. It does have an underwire cup.

Best Regards,
Véronique

Veronique,
Why the half cup bra is named demi?
Saludos

Hi Saludos,
Because we are located in the United States, we use our country's lingerie terms which is why the half cup bra is called a demi bra.

Thanks for your question!

Letters-June 1999

Question about sizing-
How many inches does an "E", "F", and "G" cup equal, or are they the equivalents to "DD", "DDD", and "F" on the standard department store sizing of bras?
Jeanne

Dear Jeanne,
Exactly! The sizing is the same as standard American sizing in better department stores and boutiques. Most of the designers that we feature on our site are European. Here are the equivalent size comparisons:
European Cup Size "E" = American Cup Size "DD"
European Cup Size "F" = American Cup Size "DDD"
European Cup Size "G" = American Cup Size "F"
You may be interested in checking out our Bra Sizing Chart to be certain of your correct bra size.

Thanks for the great question!
Véronique

Have you eliminated some of the Lise Charmel designs that you had previously offered?
Kristine

Yes, some of the collections have either been eliminated or reduced to reflect the present availability of Lise Charmel. We always try to reflect these changes as quickly as possible so that our customers will not be disappointed in case their selection is no longer available. Please keep checking our site as we expect to have more selections in the very near future.

I am looking for a designer bra size 34C with a full cup in pink with matching medium panty and garter belt. I love the lise charmel, but all seem to be demi. What do you suggest?
Thank you,
TA

Dear TA,
We are very pleased to inform you that Lise Charmel does have a collection available in pink which offers all three items that your requested (Full Cup Bra, Panty and Garter Belt). The "Papyrus Collection" is a fabulous Leavers Lace from Calais. This is definitely one of our more popular collections. The Pink color selection is new for Spring 1999, while Velvet Blue is currently ongoing and Stormy Sky has been discontinued. The photo shows the set in Velvet Blue.

Thanks!

Hi Veronique!
Could you tell me how to order the correct size for the shoulder strapped brocade corset you sell? Should I go by bra size or waist size? And if I want my waist to be cinched a little bit, should I order one size smaller??? Please let me know because I think the return policy does not let me return items just because of a size mismatch, correst?
Thank you,
Leonie

Dear Leonie,
Thanks for your e-mail. We suggest ordering your bra size in respect to the shoulder strapped brocade corset. There are laces in the back which allow for substantial cinching. The first time you try on your corset, you may require the help of a friend. Once the corset is laced and adjusted, it will be properly fitted for you. We always pre-lace each of our corsets for you using the tried and true lacing methods established by the original corset makers. Once this initial fitting is done, it is simple to use the hidden hooks in the front to fasten the corset, rather than re-lacing each time. Of course we will exchange the corset for another size if the one you order does not fit properly. Our exchange policy does allow for a proper fit.

Have a great day!
Véronique

I am looking for a thong by Duet. I am guessing that the style number is #615288. Do you carry this item? If not, do you have any suggestions?

As it turns out you are referring to the Duet "Lace Collection" which we feature on our web site!! We are happy that the mystery was so easily solved!

Thanks for your e-mail!

Letters-March 1999

Hi - Do you carry any back stock?

I was hoping you may be able to help me track down a Simone Perele bra from a 97 collection. It was a periwinkle blue color with a delicate white lace overlay pattern. Size 34A. I'd love to find it if possible - thanks for your help.
Colleen

Dear Colleen,
The name of the Simone Pérèle collection that you inquired about was "Doriane". Unfortunately this collection was closed a very long time ago and it is impossible for us to acquire any items from this series. We checked with Simone Pérèle and they did not have any back stock left over in this range. Perhaps you could check with some of the boutiques that carry Simone Pérèle. I must warn you it will be similar to finding a needle in a haystack.....but it certainly wouldn't hurt to try!

Good luck with your search!
Véronique

Véronique,
A few months ago I bought my wife a couple of bras size 36 B. One of the two seems too large, the other one looks ok but you might still pinch 1/4 inch of fabric on the cup. Should I consider downgrading the cup size to A? Bras in pictures always seem to fit tightly. Is that how they are supposed to fit or is a little loose ok? Also, is there a particular style that would look best for this size?

Merci bien,
Ronald

Dear Ronald,
Thank you for your e-mail. Although you did not indicate which types of bras you bought for your wife, I will attempt to offer my assistance. Most of the designers that we showcase do follow a standard bra sizing which generally runs true. You may find slight variables from designer to designer and occasionally even from collection to collection from the same designer. It seems that the two 36B bras that you purchased for your wife should have fit better. Full cup bras are less forgiving in exact fit than demi and balconet bras. This is because there is greater coverage with notepad LCEprise.htmlthe breast does not fill out the cup, the bra will be too large. The same size in a demi or balconet bra may fit perfectly as its fit only addresses half of the cup. Being able to pinch 1/4 of an inch seems excessive to me. I do suggest downgrading to an A-Cup. Bras should never fit too tightly nor too loose. We carry bras in size 36A. Below I have provided a picture of an Aubade bra which offers an excellent fit.
Aubade Cocktail Collection Demi Bra Aubade's "Cocktail Collection"
This bra is available in either demi cup or padded push-up.
Thanks for your questions. I hope my answers have helped you and I welcome your future e-mails!

Best Wishes,
Véronique

veronique,
i am interested in crotcheting my own wedding garter for my daughters wedding in May. do you know of any sites for crotchet patterns?
Mary

Dear Mary,
Thanks for your e-mail. Although I personally do not know of a site that has crotchet patterns, I did locate this site:
The Crochet Hook This is a list of sites that may be useful to you, also you might e-mail several of them for more help with your quest!

Good luck!
Véronique

Letters-February 1999

I am very interested in ordering a bra and possibly a panty in your Aubade Cocktail Collection. My question is: do you ever get the tanga in the bordeaux in an XL? If not, could you tell me if the high-cut panties look similar to the bra. I think it's a beautiful collection!
Thank you for your time.
Brandye

Dear Brandye,
Thank you for your most recent e-mail. Aubade's "Cocktail Collection" is absolutely striking. Aubade's tangas usually are available extra small through large, as is the case with the "Cocktail Collection". The high cut bikini is produced in sizes extra small through extra large. The bikini does look similar to the bra with the design at a diagonal.
We are sure that you are well aware of the impeccable quality and style that goes into every Aubade piece in any of their collections. This collection consists of a solid microfibre teamed with a lovely semi-sheer jacquard.

Once again thanks for your interest in AzzumA Fine Imported Lingerie.

Véronique

Dear Veronique,

Can you please tell me what a Combinette is?
Thanks J.

Dear J,
A combinette is simply a women's slip. Thanks for asking!

Best Regards,
Véronique

Letters-January 1999

Dear Veronique,

I am interested in purchasing one of the velvet wraps for around the waist, such as the one shown on the picture for the Cupid's Valentine's Day sale. I do not see the item listed on the order form where the bra and panty are listed, however. Is there any way I can order this item, or is it not available for sale? Please let me know.
Thank you,
Christina

Dear Christina,
The velvet wrap that is pictured with Aubade's "Cocktail Collection" bra and panty is not an item that they offer with their collection. We are not certain where one might find such a wrap. If we learn of any locations, we will forward the information on to you. In the meantime, please bookmark our site and check back often for new selections.

Yours truly,
Véronique

Dear Veronique,

Shopping on your web site and I did not see any item list or pricing for the Barbara collection. Is this an unfortunate omission? You have a nice site otherwise and a fine selection.
Thank you.
Gerry

Dear Gerry,
We intentionally omitted the Barbara Collections as it is impossible to receive any shipments from them at the present time. We will either be offering Barbara again in the near future or replacing Barbara of Paris with another designer.

Thanks for your concerns and compliments!
Véronique

Hi,
I was wondering if you send out cataloges? I really hope you do because I do not feel comfortable with the idea of shopping over the internet. I really like what I have seen so far.
Debbie

Dear Debbie,
May we suggest that you make your selections online and rather than actually ordering over the internet, simply print out your order and mail it to us along with your payment or fax your credit card information along with your order?

Thanks for your e-mail!
Véronique

Letters-November 1998

Dear Veronique,

Thank you very much for your kind help! I really appreciate your suggestions on the new Lise Charmel collections and the reference to the web pages. I think I can place my order after I ask a couple of questions:

1- What is a tanga?
2- What is the difference between a brief and a panty?
3- What is tulle?
4- What is charmeuse?

Thank you,
Hugh

Dear Hugh,
To answer your questions, a tanga is a version of a thong, however it has a slightly broader band in the rear and tends to be more ornate than a normal thong or g-string and is more substantial than a thong. I like to think of it as the g-string'smore sophisticated cousin!! The brief offers greater coverage, usually with a wider waist band than a panty which also has a full back. The Lise Charmel briefs tend to offer more detail compared to their panties. Also the Lise Charmel brief has more sophisticated ornamentation around the waistband. Tulle is a fine netted fabric which is see-through and virtually transparent accept for its inherent color or perhapsany ornamentation or embroideries which may be applied over top. Finally, charmeuse is a signature French fabrication technique that offers a smooth and satin- like texture which is generally not transparent.
I hope that these answers were helpful, of course please do not hesitate to ask should you have any additional comments or questions.

Warm Wishes, Véronique

Letters-September 1998

Dear Veronique,
I remember a black bustier from Aubade that I loved. (it was perfect) I didn't get around to buying it earlier. Is it still available on your site? If not, where can I buy it?
Melissa

Dear Melissa,
I know exactly which bustier that you are referring to, it was Aubade's "Sonate Collection" from last year. It was a beautiful collection, however it is no longer available as it has been discontinued. Most of the designers that we feature change their collections seasonally. Sometimes certain colors will be eliminated or added to reflect the current season. Trends may also dictate which collections move forward and which ones may be dropped. My best advice is that if you see something that you absolutely love and cannot live without---Do Not Hesitate---Buy It Today!! I am truly sorry that the bustier that you want is no longer available. The bright side is that Aubade always offers new and exciting collections to choose from and maybe you'll fall in love all over again!

Have fun shopping,
Véronique

Letters-August 1998

Question!
Looking for a bra that has a formed cup, not necessarily padded and not push-up, but one that will hold its shape and size on its own to be worn under loose fitting clothing. We had purchased this type in Germany years ago. Saw Aubade's; Bahia, & Air du Temps A2414 looked as if it might be the formed cup type we are looking for. Demi-cup OK, 36C. We would appreciate any descriptive assistance you can offer.
Thank You for your attention.
Robert

Dear Robert,
Folies by Renaud offers demi cup bras which offer the shape without the push-up effect. Although they are not padded, they are thick enough to hold their shape as you described. Also Lise Charmel's "Allure Top Model Collection" may prove to be the answer to your quest if you are looking for something less ornate. As for Aubade's "Bahia Collection" and "Timeless", although they are both very well made and quite beautiful, they probably will not offer the type of formed cup that you are looking for. We hope that we were able to help you with your decisions.

Véronique

Véronique,
I would like to know how well the Ravage bras support. I need lots of support and up lift (34D and four childern). I like the corselet of full cup.
Thanks,
Lori

Dear Lori,
All the Ravage bras are constructed very well. We offer two different Ravage collections which currently feature corselets. First is the Ravage "Senorita Collection". This corselet is a very pretty and is completely strapless. Secondly is the Ravage "Autrefois Collection". The corselete featured with this collection has been very popular and is more versatile as it has removable straps, which is like two bras is one! I would point you more to the later collection due to the definite support that it provides. It is currently available in white, lilac, fuchsia and black. Hope this helped answer your questions and we will look forward to assisting you in the future.

Best Wishes,
Véronique

There is a bustier shown in the Eda Collection, it is black with red roses and gold vines. How many suspenders are there on this garment and and what materials is it made of?
Levi

Dear Levi,
Thank you for your interest in our "Eda of London" collections. The bustier in question is undoubtedly one of the prettiest pieces which we are showcasing. It is intricately embroidered with delicate golden vines adorned with red roses. The fiber content is a combination of Microfiber with a high Lycra content and luxurious Swiss Embroidery. The embroidery is viscose thread on nylon/Lycra net. There are a total of 4 garters on the bustier, each side has two garters. The brief which is also shown in the picture has an allover embroidered front.

Thank you for your interest in AzzumA.
Best Regards,
Véronique

What is the difference between a demi bra and a balconnet bra? Also, what is the difference between a contour demi bra and a regular demi bra? Finally, which generally looks best on a smaller (34A) woman?
Scott

Dear Scott,
Thanks for your question. Basically the difference is semantics, the demi bra and balconnet bra are the same thing. A demi cup or balconnet bra is usually a 3/4 cup bra, with the cup line being almost horizontal. The straps are usually set wider and placed closer to the arms than a fuller cup bra. We use both "demi cup bra" and "balconnet bra" terms to describe bras from either different collections and/or different designers. We usually reflect whichever description that the designer provides for that particular item. A contour demi bra usually is a 3/4 cup bra which has a more molded shape than a regular demi cup bra.
Finally, I feel that the most flattering look for a smaller woman who wears a size 34A would be any demi cup/balconnet bra, or a padded push up bra if she wants greater effect. A full cup bra would still work as long as the fit is absolutely perfect. The final selection should belong to the lady wearing the garment, which should reflect her personal preference and comfort.

Great questions, Scott!
Sincerely,
Véronique

Dear Veronique,
I was just in Paris for the past month and everywhere there were billboards of Helena Christensen in these wonderful bathing suits, but I could not find them anywhere. I believe the brand name is H & M, but I'm not sure. The one in particular I'm looking for is a two piece, with a brown bottom and a tube top with orange, yellow, and brown pieces of fabric. If you could help me locate this, or the brand name, I'd be most grateful.
Thank you for your time,
Sincerely,
Shelley

Hi Shelley,
H & M is a department store with several locations in London. You might have some luck if contact one of the London stores directly. I would suggest trying their Oxford Circus or Marble Arch locations which are centrally located and probably have the largest stocks. I found the main number for a H & M contact:
H & M Hennes Ltd.
Middlesex House
34/42 Cleveland Street
London W1P 5FB
phone: +44 171 323 2211
Perhaps if you contact H & M directly and offer to pay for shipping and handling, they might oblige. The bathing suit that you are looking for is called "Bandeau Bikini", color: dark brown. Hope you have some luck. Let me know how it goes.

Warm Wishes,
Véronique

My girlfriend takes a 42D or DD cup bra and is a Australian size 12...I am looking for something with a garter belt
can you please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Mr. M. Jones,
Yes, we do carry bras in sizes 42D & 42DD with matching garter belts. First we have Ulla Dessous, "Romance Collection" . There is a 42D available in the underwire bra and we can special order a 42E (which is the proper description for 42DD) in the underwire support bra. Next, we have Ulla Dessous, "Natalie Collection". Finally, we have Barbara's "Carla Collection". I hope that you found your answer and your ideal selection by reviewing "Ask Véronique", as our e-mail response to you came back as returned mail.

Thanks for your question all the way from Australia!
As Always,

dear véronique,
i don't understand, whats the difference between a tanga and a thong?
bill weston

Dear Bill,
The main difference is that the thong has much less material in the back, usally just a very narrow strip.

Thanks Bill.

Véronique

Hi Véronique,
What does Cornely crotchet mean on that one white swimsuit? Just wondering.
Amy

Dear Amy,
Well Amy, we're glad you asked. Basically, Cornely is a semi manual mechanical embroidery. It is done on a fabric backing using a chain stitch. This is the basis (among others) of the scallop stitch. "Cornely" is from the name of the Frenchman who invented it. You can see a luxurious example of Cornely on MaBell Moda Mare's one piece white swimsuit.

Thanks Amy, great question!!
Best Regards,
Véronique

Dear Véronique,
I need a bra in the size of 42E. I have a really tough time finding my size. Do you have anything for me?
Leigh

Dear Leigh,
Currently we are featuring two designers, Simone Perele and Barbara, which offer size 42-E. The "Lisa" collection from Simone Perele has an under wire full-cup bra available in white, pewter or ivory. This particular collection is made of Textronic lace with Jacquard knit. Next we have Barbara's "Carla" collection. We offer an under wire full cup bra made of elastic lace. There are two corselettes available in this collection. The first is the corselette with removable wires and the second corselette is wired. The color selections are white or night blue.

Thanks Leigh, I hope we helped you!
Regards,
Véronique

Véronique,
What exactly is lycra any way? --Heather

Dear Heather,
LYCRA belongs to the generic elastane classification of man-made fibers (known as spandex in the United States and Canada) and is described in chemical terms as a segmented polyurethane. It is composed of «soft», or flexible, segments bonded together with «hard», or rigid, segments. It is the molecular structure which endows the fiber with its in-built capacity to stretch and recover. A fabric will never be made of 100% LYCRA. LYCRA is used in small quantities and is always combined with another fiber or fibers, natural or man-made. Whatever the blend, a fabric enhanced with LYCRA will always retain the natural appearance and hand of its primary fiber. Whether knitted or woven, a fabric with LYCRA will become more lively, supple and drapeable, and garments will feel more comfortable to the wearer.

Thanks for your question Heather.
Sincerely,
Véronique
